Exeter New Hampshire consists of approximately 20 square miles and is drained by the Exeter River. Serviced by Amtrak with rail service to Portland and Boston, Exeter is also easily accessible by Interstate 95 by car.
Exeter had a history of being a manufacturing town which used the river’s power to make cotton textiles along with shoes, saddles, carriages and bicycles. Over time, the building of architecturally significant structures had taken place. Namely the Town Hall and Public Library were designed by Arthur Gilman and Boston firm Rotch and Tilden. Later, a related firm Cram and Ferguson designed the Phillips Exeter Academy campus that we know today.
